Climate Ambassadors Students Conference 19th December 2016
Project Climate Ambassadors Mumbai-Stockholm (A Climate Education & Action Project with Young Students) implemented in seven schools of Mumbai. Climate Ambassadors Students’ Conference was organized on the concluding ceremony of the project in collaboration with Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai. Conference was held at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point on 19th December 2016. Ms. Supriyatai Sule, honorable Pember of Parliament & Chair Person of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan; Ms. Karin Wahlgren & Mr. Rikard Rhenberg from Klimate Action, Sweden the partner organization of this project, were the chief guests of the conference.
The conference started with the inauguration of exhibition of environment friendly products, models and projects on the school’s stalls by Ms. Karin Wahlgren & Mr. Rikard Rhenberg.
In the conference hall, students of N. M. W. S. High School presented a drama climate change & the solutions and a traditional folk song Powada on mangroves. It was followed by a drama presented by Pragnya Bodhini High School to give message that plantation is the answer to global warming. After that the students from all the schools & teachers came up in a fashion show with traditional eco-friendly colourful clothing!
After welcome of the guests Mr. Prashant Shinde, Executive director of Srushtidnyan preface about the project. Ms. Hrshada Mishra, teacher from Sharadashram Vidyamandir Tantrik Vidyalay presented project activity report of the year. Mr. Riard Rehnberg presented Klimate Action’s work that they are doing in Sweden for climate change. Ms. Karin Wahlgren presented the global scenario of Climate Change & the threats to the living things on earth. All the participating teachers were felicitated with trophies & certificates by Ms. Karin Wahlgren. The students with outstanding performances in the project were felicitated with trophies & certificates by Mr. Rikard Rhenberg. All the schools received trophies & certificates by Ms. Supriyatai Sule. Supriyatai personally interacted with the school students and asked them about their plan in future against the climate change. She mentioned that as a political leader she is following Swedish policies to fight against climate change. Mr. Ashish Damle from Yuvraj Pratishthan, Badalapur gave vote of thanks. Ms. Sangeeta Kharat from Srushtidnyan anchored the conference. Ms. Jyoti Khopkar & Mr. Kunal Anerao worked hard for the success of this conference. Our former Climate Ambassadors Sumit Pawar, Tanmay Manjrekar, Shreyas Kharkar, Ajay Gurav, Yogita Basutkar & Harishchand Nishad also helped a lot for the conference.
