Mangroves Plantation at Taramumbri, Devgad

Mangrove conservation a need of time. To prevent global Warming and climate change, it is highly essential to plant and conserve mangroves in Maharashtra coastal creek area. For past three years, srushtidnyan has been doing work of planting and conservation mangrove in devgad creek area of sindhudurg. For this work we get help from Bhairavnath Self-help group of Taramumbri of Devgad. We set up two mangrove nurseries of rare species. In this nursery we had grown thousand numbers of mangrove plants and planning to do plantation in Sindhudurg Creek Area. Last year srushtidnyan with help of forest department we had planted 20,000 mangrove plants and take care of them successfully. For this plantation srushtidnyan get great help from Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and ICICI bank.
On 17th December 2019 a mangrove plantation drive was organized in Taramumbri, Devgad. For this program Mr. Jaisingh dhumal (Chief Finance Manager, ICICI Bank Technology) and Mr. Jochim Colaco (Manager) was present as chief guest. Julia and frida from future Earth NGO, Sweden, Forest Guard Mr. Bhange from Mithbav Forest Department had taken part in plantation. Mr. Daftardar Sir, Mr. Jadhav Sir and 20 Students from Kelkar College, Devgad take actively participation in this plantation. Mr. Prashant Shinde with team Srushtidnyan, Mrs. Priyanka Tari & Mrs. Priyanka Khawale from Bhairavnath Bachat Gat, Taramumbri and Mr. Laxshman Tari did hard work and put lot of efforts to make this plantation program successful .
