Genesis: Srushtidnyan – Paryavaran Shikshan, Sanshodhan Aani Mahiti Sankalan Kendra (पर्यावरण शिक्षण, संशोधन आणि माहिती संकलन केंद्र) is a Mumbai based leading organization in the field of environment Education and action. Srushtidnyan was established on June 15, 2001 by a group of young and enthusiast environmentalists and social workers. It is registered in Mumbai under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1050. Srushtidnyan holds 80/G exemption certificate under the Income Tax Act, 1961. It is also registered under the Foreign Contribution (regulation) Act, 2010. Recently, Srushtidnyan is became a member of an Asian Network called Future Earth Asia Network. Srushtidnyan aims at addressing the environmental degradation and its impact on ecosystem and human beings with a specific focus on conservation education and awareness. Srushtidnyan is reaching out to various sections of society i.e. children, youth, women, villagers, educationists, government agencies and other local, national and international organizations.

The environment, which is the core to the very existence of all living beings, has been severely affected by the existing model of so called development and endless wants of modern human beings. The deteriorating environment in urban, rural and tribal areas is a matter of great concern to all of us. The phenomenon like global warming is threatening the entire life on the earth. Depletion and pollution of freshwater resources, soil erosion, air pollution, unsustainable agricultural practices, forest degradation, wildlife poaching, and habitat destruction are some of the major environmental issues that need immediate interventions. Climate Change is the contemporary global environmental crisis that must be resolved before it devastates the sustainability of our existence. This reality forms the basis of the formation of Srushtidnyan. It has been making efforts to address these issues through its unique activities over last 15 years. A thought that once brought some individuals together under the name of Srushtidnyan has now become a shared dream of many from various walks of life.
