Wild Vegetables and Millet Workshop at Pragnya Bodhini High School, Goregaon on 11th August, 2018.

Wild Vegetables and Millet Workshop was conducted at Pragnya Bodhini High School, Goregaon on 11th August, 2018 to spread awareness about the importance of wild vegetables and millets. The traditional food grains and seasonal wild vegetables which are produced, marketed and consumed at a local level have less impact on environment and climate. All these are more nutritional, healthy, economically and ecologically sustainable food practice.

The main objective of this workshop was to make the parents and students aware about the different varieties of wild vegetables and millets and to adopt and receive the traditional and locally available healthy dietary practices.

Dr. Jyotsna Nijsure, Professor of Botany, R. J. College talked about different types of wild vegetables and explained the the nutritious values of the same. Mrs. Sangeeta Kharat from Srushtidnyan interacted with parents about importance of millets and how to inculcate these in our day to day diet.

Two teachers and five students from Anuyog Vidyalaya also participated in this workshop. Congratulations to all the climate ambassadors students, teachers and principal of Pragnya Bodhni High School who worked very hard to make this workshop successful.
